It does make the game easier by being able to use gear found on other characters, but you can just as easily decide not to do that because there's the individual stash and the shared stash. I think there's no shame in using it, most of the d2 single player streamers use it. I see plugy as what single player should have been. If you feel like it's cheating, then that's a good compromise. I ended up playing through one character without, and then used plug y after that. It also lets you do some of the more difficult content only available online (uber diablo and pandemonium event). But if I remember correctly, the inability to have ladder only runewords in single player was an accident. Plugy is the best mod available for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, without changing much of the games core mechanics. echo off start 'Diablo II PlugY' PlugY.exe -direct -txt. Inside, put this batch command : For FULL SCREEN mode : Code: Select all. PlugY also let's you use ladder only runewords, so that's where the real power boost comes from vs not plugy. Hello If you want add arguments at the PlugY launch, you can do this way : Create a new txt file in the root D2 directory (along with PlugY.exe). I previously disliked playing single player because it was frustrating to find a bow on my sorc, or a good wand on my paladin, or a claw on my druid, and not be able to use it. In online play, there's the ability to transfer items to other characters and have "mules" to store more stuff. I wouldn't personally be too worried about it not being vanilla.
